Optional Pet Friendly Movement Detectors

Our home security systems can be enhanced with pet friendly options. Our standard movement detectors (PIRs- passive infrared sensor) will detect the movement of a dog, cat or even a bird such a budgie causing a false alarm. 

To overcome this we are able to offer sensors that are more selective. However, these too have considerations, for example;

• a dog weighing over 20kg will be detected and the alarm tripped 
• any movement within 1.8m of the detector will also be detected, so a bird flying loose could trip the alarm even though it weighs less that 20kg! 
• a couple of cats with a combined weight greater than 20kg could potentially cause a false alarm
